United Arab Emirates Team Nogueira Dubai

Ahmad Alshamsi

Young jiu-jitsu athlete representing the UAE on the mats. Gold and bronze on the UAEJJF — KBMZ circuit, with training and career management led by his family.

Story

Raised on the mats,
competing at home

Ahmad trains and competes in the United Arab Emirates, where jiu-jitsu is part of the national sporting programme. He steps onto the mat with his name and his country’s flag on the back of his gi, and has already come home with gold and bronze from UAEJJF events.

His career is managed by his parents: the calendar, the travel, the filming and every partnership go through them. The goal for the coming years is to move up the belts on the federation circuit, with support to cover the season.

The coach

The man who
builds the athlete

Every technical detail comes from his coach: the base, the timing of the pass, reading the match and the discipline away from the mats. The work is daily, in the gym, belt by belt.

He trains at Team Nogueira Dubai, where the season’s competition plan is built together with the family and followed through at every federation event.
